Is it time Leaders and their teams embraced a similar high intensity workout?

It’s called HIIT and it stands for High Intensity Interval Training.

HIIT is one of the top fitness trends in the world.

What is it?

As explained in a Huffington Post piece:

‘HIIT, or high-intensity interval training, is a training technique in which you give all-out, one hundred percent effort through quick, intense bursts of exercise, followed by short, sometimes active, recovery periods.

This type of training gets and keeps your heart rate up and burns more fat in less time.’

The benefits of this type of training according to Wikipedia are:

‘A 2015 systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials found that HIIT training and traditional endurance training both lead to significantly improved cardiovascular fitness in healthy adults ages 18–45 but greater improvements in VO2 max were seen in those participating in the HIIT exercise regimen.’

But the real benefit is that for many time-poor people they can gain real results in a short period of time.

It escapes the idea that you need to spend hours and hours of time in the gym.

Time which most people don’t have.

Does this sound familiar?

Leaders & managers are also time-poor and under pressure to perform.

And what consumes most of their time?

So wouldn’t it make sense to develop a high-interval training approach that leaders and their teams could use right now?

Well I have.

It’s called Blitz.

Blitz is a fast, short, high intensity way of solving problems, generating ideas or making decisions that any group or team can use – at any time.

The outcome, just like the HIIT workout is better, faster results.

Blitz is based on my Speed Thinking approach.

It’s like a mental sprint rather than a slow jog.

So leaders now have real choice.

They can continue to conduct meetings to brainstorm or they can Blitz.

For organisations that have adopted the Blitz Way it has become part of the vernacular of the organisation.

Grab a few people when a problem emerges and just Blitz it.

It not only generates better, faster results but builds a more agile, creative, energised and productive team.

Ready, set, Blitz.
